It seems that the standard MacBook Pro did not just receive a hardware refresh, but there is also the next generation model – an all new 15-inch MacBook Pro that goes the way of the new iPad as well as iPhone 4/4S, which is to come with a stunning Retina Display. Not only that, this next generation MacBook Pro will feature all flash storage as well as quad-core processors. Despite packing in such firepower, it will not weigh you down literally – how can it do so when it comes in an extremely thin and light design that measures just 0.71-inches and tips the scales at a mere 4.46 pounds?

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, has this to say about the new MacBook Pro, “The MacBook Pro with Retina display pushes the limits of performance and portability like no other notebook. With a gorgeous Retina display, all flash architecture and a radically thin and light design, the new MacBook Pro is the most advanced Mac we have ever built.”

The new MacBook Pro Retina Display is touted to be the world’s highest resolution notebook display, sporting more than 5 million pixels, which is 3 million more than your regular HD television. It has a count of 220 pixels-per-inch, making the Retina Display’s pixel density so high that the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels from a normal viewing distance, making your text and graphics look extremely sharp. The Retina display relies on IPS technology in order to deliver a 178-degree wide viewing angle, and boasts of 75% less reflection and 29% higher contrast than the previous generation.

Apart from that, it comes in a precision engineered aluminum unibody design, sporting an all flash storage architecture, the latest Intel Core i7 quad-core processors, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M discrete graphics, up to 16GB of faster 1600 MHz RAM, a couple of Thunderbolt and two USB 3.0 ports, and a new HDMI port. You get up to 7 hours of wireless productivity, where other hardware specifications include a FaceTime HD camera, glass Multi-Touch trackpad, full-size backlit keyboard, dual microphones, enhanced speakers, 3-stream 802.11n Wi-Fi and a thinner MagSafe 2 power port.

Prices start from $2,199 upwards, depending on the configuration that you want.
